In attesa di sapere quale saranno le nomination per i prossimi Grammy Awards (con particolare occhio sulla categoria reggae), sono state diffuse tutte le categorie e le nomine per i prossimi International Reggae and World Music Awards noti anche come IRAWMA.
La trentatreesima edizione del premio si terrà il prossimo 4 ottobre al Coral Spring Center for The Arts in Florida. Una rassegna che in tanti considerano tra le più importanti nell’ambiente reggae in quanto non sarà la giuria ad esprimere il proprio voto ma bensì il pubblico che decreterà quindi il vincitore finale. Chiunque vorrà votare lo potrà fare entro il 20 settembre collegandosi al sito irawma.com.
Così come lo scorso anno, anche in questo 2014 c’è una nomina per l’Italia che sarà rappresentata ancora da Heavy Hammer, il sound system salentino che è stato inserito nella categoria “Most Popular Sound System”. Insieme a loro ci saranno anche i giamaicani Stone Love e Bass Odissey, i giapponesi Mighty Crown e gli americani King Addies. Riuscirà a ripetere la vittoria dello scorso anno quando il sound system italiano vinse come migliori Sound System/Selector?
Tra le altre nomination spiccano i nomi più interessanti della scena reggae come Luciano, Romain Virgo, Chronixx, Shaggy, Capleton, Anthony B e tanti tanti altri. Da citare anche la nomina del Rototom Sunsplash nella categoria “miglior concerto dell’anno”. Qui di seguito tutte le nomination e le categorie.
