Dopo la fase di votazione del pubblico e con contemporanea valutazione della giuria, si è conclusa la prima fase dell’European Reggae Contest, il concorso organizzato dal Rototom Sunsplash e rivolto a giovani band che vogliono mettersi in mostra per avere l’opportunità di esibirsi sui principali palchi dei reggae festival estivi.
Le classifiche erano attese per oggi 19 febbraio e poco fa sono puntualmente arrivate. Sono tre le band italiane che si sono qualificate alla fase successiva che sarà live on stage: a continuare il sogno e a sperare di poter arrivare alla finale europea saranno i Rebel Rootz, classificati primi con un punteggio totale di 7.73; seguono Kayamama Reggae Evolution con 6.93 e Piero Dread & Vibespoint Band con 6.64.
Ai piedi del podio, ci sono i primi esclusi ovvero The Misty Morning e Crazy Power Flowers, oltre ai Lion Clan che dopo aver “vinto” la classifica del pubblico ricevendo 863 voti, sono incredibilmente rimasti fuori. A nostro avviso è questa la sorpresa più grande in quanto la band salentina ci aveva impressionato favorevolmente in questi ultimi mesi, grazie al loro bel disco. Questa volta è andata male, ma è un buon inizio per mettere forti basi per il futuro.
